Welcome to Ernest Cockrell Jr. Hall (ECJ) home of the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin (UT)!
On the northern edge of the main UT campus in the Engineering Area at the southwest corner of Dean Keeton St. (26th) and San Jacinto, ECJ houses such things as our administrative offices (ECJ 4.200), the 10th floor offices of the Dean of the Cockrell School of Engineering (CSE), the McKinney Engineering Library (ECJ 1.300), faculty and staff offices, and many classrooms and labs.
The main entrance to ECJ is located on the west side of the building off of the plaza and comes onto the 2nd floor. Visitors can also enter through the basement, which can be accessed through the east side of the building directly from Parking Lot F-25, into which you can turn from eastbound Dean Keeton St. (26th). Elevators are the best way to get from floor to floor within the building, especially for those unfamiliar with ECJ, since no stairway provides access to every floor.
Parking is conveniently located adjacent to the Engineering Area in either the San Jacinto Garage (SJG) or the Speedway Garage (SWG). (Daily parking rates can be found at this Parking and Transportation Services page.) There are racks for bicycles on the plaza to ECJ's west side, and there are major bus stops in front of ECJ for both UT Campus Shuttle routes and Capital Metro bus routes.
