First-Year Interest Groups

The idea of coming to a university community of some 50,000 students can seem overwhelming. However, you can easily get connected with other students going through the same experience who also share the same interests—that's what a First-Year Interest Group (FIG) is all about!

New freshmen in both Civil and Architectural Engineering have the opportunity to register in any FIG for their entering fall semester. Three that you might be interested in are the Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, and Women in Engineering FIGs. Registration in a FIG is not required, and space is limited. In short, the FIG is an excellent program for new students. For additional information see the following links:
