Method 1: Click on a node or an element to be selected.
Method 2: Press the left mouse button, drag the mouse enclosing the items to be selected, and release the button.

Notes
To add nodes or elements into the selection, hold down the Shift key and select nodes or elements to be added.
Selection of stiffener and plate elements is based on the Center-point of each element.
