My research, teaching, and service seeks to advance the
industry with respect to novel processes in the areas of supply
chain management, project controls, and resource management as
well as through supporting research
in information management and design of advanced decision support
systems. My work has been funded by industry and government,
with major grants from the National Science Foundation, National
Institute of Standards and Technology, Construction Industry
Institute, and the Texas Department of Transportation. As a
teacher, I have recieved a "Gold Award" from the University
of Texas' Innovative Instructional Technology Awards Program,
reflecting my continuing endeavors to bring new methods and
technologies to teaching.
I am currently an Associate Professor in the
Construction Engineering and Management Program in the Civil,
Architectural, and Environmental Engineering Department at The
University of Texas at Austin. Beyond my university service,
I am an Associate Editor of Advanced Engineering Informatics,
Specialty Editor of the Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering,
and serve as Secretary of the ASCE Technical Council for Computing
and Information Technology's Executive Committee.
