GIS Class - Mike McAdams

Term Project Description / Outline

Past forestry pratices have used many manual methods to quantify and qualify the relative health and market value of timber stands. With the emergance of remote sensing and GIS, quantification of forest resources has started to take a turn toward the "high tech". My project hopes to intigrate forestry data into a GIS environment. Specifically, I hope to produce a map of the forestable lands in Idaho. Also, I think it would be nice if I could put together a forest value map, you know "Show me the Money!!"
