This page collects some resources available on the Internet about the Persian Gulf War. I will attempt to present a variety
of informative sources which will offer the user a full breadth of opportunities to explore the events before, during,
and after the conflict.
Equally important are the people who served in Operation DESERT STORM, their stories breathe
life into a dusty page of history.
Desert Storm Resources
The Events
- Desert Storm.com
- Relatively wide ranging site offering many different resources about the Persian Gulf conflict and for those who
were part of it. Its a good site for an initial starting point. It gives a broad overview, timeline and pictures. It also has a good section on
the type of armament used
- Frontline - The Gulf War
- Very interesting site with interviews of the major players in the GulfWar on both sides,soldiers and airmen, and
a in-depth report on Gulf War Syndrome
- Overview of Operation DESERT STORM
- Site has a good summary of the conflict and the events leading up to it as well as links to all the Allied countries.
It offers a good snapshot of the conflict and also has a good link list of related sites.
- Persian Gulf War Chronology - site contains a detailed timeline of the
activities of the 18th Airborne Corps from August 1990 through June 1991. It also includes a good monthly descrption of the outside events.
The People
- Key Personnel Listing - Site offers an up to date listing
of all the key army personnel down to junior officers who deployed to Desert Storm. very detailed
- Oral History - site contains many interviews offering
interesting perspectives on the Army during the preparation and execution of the ground war.
- Lance Fielder story
- Site telling the story of one of the unfortunate incidents of the conflict. A young soldier was accidently killed
by American troops. This site relates the whole story-- there is no happy ending.
- An Iraqi Perspective
- This site offers an interesting perspective on the war. It details an Iraqi officer's view on the war as written in his journal.
- A Company Commander's Story
- A diary of a US Army officer from Fort Hood following him thru his preparation and deployment to Saudi Arabia as well as his
experiences during DESERT STORM. Well Written and sprinkled with pictures.

- Inteligence Imagery from Desert Storm
- Site with interesting pictures taken of key Iraqi areas with satellite photography.
- More DESERT STORM Pictures
- site offers pictures of the terrain, the soldiers and the weaponry from the Persian Gulf War
- Sandy's Army Page Photos
- An US Army National Guard soldier offers a great set of pictures showing what she and her unit did during DESERT STORM.
It really brings out the people who served and offers a good picture of some of the things that went on other than fighting.
- Imagery from the Air War
-This site offers a wide variety of pictures from the air war including pictures of anti aircraft fire and the Allied
air operations.
Internet Resources
- Gulfweb - good reference site for Gulf War Veterans, It offers a locator
and many link to resources avaliable to the Desert Storm veteran. It offers a clearinghouse on the Gulf War Syndrome.
- Canadian General Forces Persian Gulf War Reference Site
- site offers a the best bibliography of resources on the conflict that I found.
- DESERT STORM Maps
- This site offers a wide suite of maps of the operations conducted during the Persian Gulf War. Also, it has some interesting
pictures of Scuds and Scud Launchers.
