I graduated with a M.S Degree in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from University of Texas at Austin in Dec. 1997. My advising professor was Dr. David Maidment. Currently, I work with WSBC and can be contacted as jbao@wsbc.com
It was unforgettable years in Dr. Maidment's GIS group. I always felt being challenged and encouraged. Strong professional and personal bonds exist between the members in this team of graduate students, researchers, and faculty. I also feel honored to have been a member of this group.
As a research assistant at UT's Center for Research in Water Resources, I studied the GIS-Based Hydrologic and Hydraulic Applications for Highway Engineering; developed ArcView3.0 application for hydrologic parameter estimation by using Avenue programming; performed grid-based computations to determine design discharge for flow conveyance structures on Texas highways. I also converted several CRWR on-line reports into PDF format which made some contributions to the Digital Library.
Before I came to Texas, I worked as a design engineer in Nanjing Environmental Engineering in Nanjing, China for seven years. I got my BS in Civil Engineering from TongJi University in Shanghai, China.
