I do research in and teach Technical Communication in the Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin.

Engineering Communication is a multi-disciplinary field that combines the insights of cognitive psychology, rhetorical theory, visual design, and organizational communication (among other disciplines) for the benefit of all technical professonals who must communicate with a wide variety of audiences.
