CCIS is dedicated to assuring the continuous competitiveness and advancement of the capital projects industry in a rapidly changing global environment. The Center's multi-disciplinary approach provides a comprehensive perspective for affecting long lasting positive change in the industry.
Description of CCIS
The Center is staffed by faculty and students from the College of Engineering, Red McCombs School of Business, U.T. Law School and LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas. CCIS was created to perform multi-disciplinary, long-range studies addressing construction industry challenges in order to complement the traditionally short-term research process employed by CII and others. One primary objective of the study is to give faculty and students at the University of Texas at Austin a broad-based interaction with industry professionals that will carry forward into the class room at UT and elsewhere.
CCIS has identified and initiated research in four areas of pressing interest for the construction industry. These four thrust areas have been identified as:
