Richard Tucker has been recognized as a 2012 Distinguished Member by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for "acknowledged eminence in project management aspects of capital facilities delivery, construction project planning, construction productivity, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of design and procurement, and contracting." He will be formally inducted during the ASCE 142nd Annual Civil Engineering Conference in October 2012.

Distinguished Membership is the highest recognition the Society may confer, second only to the title ASCE President. It is reserved for members of the Society who have attained the grade of Member or Fellow and who demonstrate acknowledged eminence in some branch of engineering or in its related arts and sciences. The total number of Distinguished Members elected in any year does not exceed one for every 7,500 members.
