Geotech professors Ellen Rathje and Kenneth Stokoe have received the C. A. Hogentogler Award for 2010 from ASTM. The award recognizes a paper of outstanding merit related to the behavior of soil or rock. The award, established in 1953, is named in honor of the first Chairman of Committee D18 on Soil and Rock.
Their paper, "An In Situ Method for Evaluating the Coupled Pore Pressure Generation and Nonlinear Shear Modulus Behavior of Liquefiable Soils," with co-author Brady Cox, appeared in the January 2009 issue of the Geotechnical Testing Journal.
