Six CAEE Students Awarded NSF Fellowships

Four current CAEE graduate students, and two undergraduate students, received the highly desired 2012 National Science Foundation's (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship, which grants each student more than $40,000 annually for three years. About 1,000 fellowships were awarded in the U.S.

Eric Cherasia

Eric Cherasia, a first-year graduate student in environmental engineering, received his bachelor's degree from Florida Gulf Coast University. His co-advisors are Dr. Lynn Katz and Dr. Gerald Speitel Jr.

Matthew Hiatt, a first year graduate student in environmental and water resources engineering, graduated from the University of Kansas in 2011. He is supervised by Dr. Paola Passalacqua.

Colleen Lyons, a first year graduate student in environmental and water resources engineering, graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is supervised by Dr. Mary Jo Kirisits.

Alissa Neuhausen, a first year graduate student in structural engineering, graduated from the University of California at Berkeley. She is supervised by Dr. Richard Klingner.

Jeseth Delgado Vela, a graduating senior in civil engineering, will enroll in the environmental program at the University of Michigan this fall.

Raul Tenorio, a graduating senior in civil engineering, will be attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in fall 2012. He will enter their environmental program.
