Doctoral Student Wins ACI-James Instruments Student Award

Xiaowei Dai, a doctoral student in the civil engineering materials program, is the winner of the ACI-James Instruments Student Award. Xiaowei was recognized for his paper "Signal Amplification by Using Parabolic Reflector in Air-Coupled Impact-Echo Test."

The award was presented at the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Conference in Dallas, Texas on March 18-22, where he also presenedt his paper.

Xiaowei earned his BS and MS degrees from Tsinghua University before entering the doctoral program in fall 2010. He is supervised by Dr. Jinying Zhu.
