ASCE OPAL Awards

Congratulations to Ralph Peterson and Jack Lemley, Jim Clark and Mike Johnson for receiving the 2005 ASCE OPAL Awards in Management, Construction and Public Works.  Ken Stinson, Ben Gerwick and Jim Lammie are prior recipients.

 

 

Dan Halpin

ASCE Honorary Member

Daniel W. Halpin will been inducted as an Honorary Member in the Fall 2006.  The Induction Ceremony of Honorary Members will take place in conjunction with the Gala Banquet at ASCE’s 2006 Annual Conference on Friday, October 20, 2006 in Chicago, Illinois.

 

Patricia Galloway

Has been elected to the position of Vice Chair of the National Science Board

The National Science Board is the governing board of the National Science Foundation (NSF), and independent Federal agency established by the national Science Foundation Act of 1950.  The Board is composed of 24 part-time members, appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. 

 

Ira Fulton

Shares Wealth with University

Ira Fulton and his wife have donated $100 million to Arizona State University.  The gift was announced in December 2005.  It is likely that the School of Education at ASU will be named after Mary Lou.  The School of Engineering is named after Ira.
