CE-LRC User Accounts (Students)
The LRC provides permanent disk space on the centralized file server "CIVIL" to all Civil and Architectural Engineering students throughout their entire career within the CAEE Department.
Eligibility
CE and ARE majors, and students currently enrolled in a CAEE course, are automatically entered into our validation database on a semester-by-semester basis. Students registering late will not be validated until after the fourth class day of the first semester enrolled at the University.
Acessibility
Windows 2000/XP can access the CIVIL server over the network or from outside ECJ via FTP. Due to an operating system limitation, Macintosh users cannot access the CIVIL/stu directory.
Quotas
Initially, 1 GB of disk storage on the LRC centralized file server is allocated to each user. Additional storage levels may be petitioned as resources allow.
In addition, each student is given a print quota of $100 at the beginning of each semester.
Backup
Data is backed up, but is intended only for catastrophic recovery due to system problems. Users should make backup copies of their own data at regular intervals when possible.
Account Termination
Termination of accounts and deletion of STU directories will occur automatically once graduation date has passed or the student is no longer enrolled during a Fall or Spring semester.
Feedback
Please provide us with your feedback, but please realize we are providing this service with limited resources and the only way for it to work well is for it to be a very low "user maintenance" service. Web documentation and email support regarding problems will be primary user support tools. Questions regarding account applications, technical problems, or policy issues should be addressed to Danny Quiroz.
