Ph.D., University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Civil Engineering, 1976

Dr. Maidment's teaching focuses on surface water hydrology and on computer and statistical methods in water resources.  His research deals with solving hydrology and water resources problems using geographic information systems and statistical methods.   He received the l988 Boggess Award from the American Water Resources Association for the best paper published in l987 in the Water Resources Bulletin, the 1990 Resources Division Best paper Award from the American Water Works Association, and the 1996 Arch Campbell Award from the New Zealand Water and Wastes Association for "Service to International Hydrology".  He is editor in chief of the Handbook of Hydrology published by McGraw-Hill.  For more information, see Dr. Maidment's home page.
