Mike Pappas is a Lecturer of Civil Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin.  Mike received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla, and an M.S.E. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.  He also completed UT’s Graduate Portfolio Program in Dispute Resolution.

Mike has more than eighteen years of capital project management experience, including ten years of progressively responsible field experience managing domestic and international construction projects and facilities programs.  Over the last five years he has helped consulting clients develop effective solutions in the areas of front-end development, risk management, productivity improvement, and dispute resolution.  His broad experience spans the spectrum of the capital facility project, from need identification and scope definition through operation and maintenance, as well as a variety of types of projects, including petrochemical, water and wastewater treatment, electrical utilities, airfields, heavy civil, and high-rise commercial facilities.  He has taught more than 50 professional development short courses.

Mike is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering, the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation, and the State Bar of Texas Construction Law Section, as well as a licensed professional engineer in the State of Missouri.  He has written award-winning papers regarding construction management and dispute prevention and resolution.
