| Khali R. Persad holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an M.S. in Construction Engineering from the University of the West Indies, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a full-time Research Associate at the Center for Transportation Research at UT. Prior to coming to UT, he worked for 13 years at the Texas Department of Transportation, first as Manager of Special Projects in TxDOT's Design Division, then as Research Engineer in TxDOT's Research and Technology Implementation Office. Before that he worked on construction projects in Trinidad for 9 years, with experience spanning from site engineer to project manager. Since joining UT in 2002, his research has focused on planning, construction, and operational issues for toll roads. He has taught courses at UT in engineering economics, project management, and cost estimating. He is a registered professional engineer in Texas. | |
