If you are one of the nearly 1,000 students who are currently enrolled in Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering (CAEE) at the University of Texas at Austin, this page and its related links are for you!
You represent all regional areas of the United States and 33 countries around the world. You are a diverse group, not just culturally and ethnicly, but also with your different experiences and with your different present and future research and professional interests. You may already know some of your classmates featured in our Student Profiles, who represent some of that diversity, and you may know some of the department's Success Stories. You may also be interested in CAEE's undergraduate students fact sheet and graduate student fact sheet.
Current students in CAEE are the primary reason the faculty and staff are here! You are a vital part of making CAEE one of the nation's best. Our excellent staff and award-winning faculty are committed to serve the current students however they can and welcome student contact.
For current students, both undergraduate and graduate students, this page provides departmental links to information about advising, degrees and courses, costs and financial aid, and forms and deadlines; a link to information made available by the University is also provided. For example, Teaching and Research describe CAEE's excellence in both of its two focuses. Another one of the important links at left is to Technical Communication in CAEE. During your professional career, you will do research, make discoveries, and develop solutions to engineering problems. To be a successful engineer, you will need to communicate those solutions to a variety of audiences, both technical and non-technical. In order to help you prepare for the workplace and succeed in your classes, CAEE has a program in Engineering Communication at the undergraduate and graduate levels. These courses focus on communicating information in presentations and documents, both verbally and graphically.
