The Campaign for our Second Century
The University of Texas at Austin’s Department of Civil Engineering, established in 1903, is one of the oldest civil engineering programs in the country. After 100 years of history and tradition, we remain a leader in the vast field that is civil engineering, consistently ranked among the top five programs, both among public and private institutions. Our goal is to maintain our position as one of the best civil engineering programs in the world by producing graduates who are sought out by industry, government and academia and by performing research that continues to improve the quality of life throughout the world.
Today’s civil engineers are breaking new and exciting ground – just
as engineers of the past century blazed unknown trails. We have within our
power, the ability to design a safer, cleaner and more accessible world for
all people. The Civil Engineering Centennial Campaign can make these dreams
a reality.
